Overview — a short statement.
RoofingPro Services LLC ("Nordhaus," "we," "us," or "our") is a roofing contractor licensed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Our registered address is 418 Como Avenue SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414. We provide residential and commercial roofing services, including inspection, replacement, restoration, and maintenance.
This Privacy Policy describes the categories of personal information we collect from you when you request an inspection, sign a work contract, correspond with us about a project, or visit our website — and the specific business purposes for which we retain each category. This policy applies to all visitors, prospects, clients, and former clients of RoofingPro Services.
By submitting your information through any Nordhaus form, telephone line, email address, or in person, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described here, you may decline to provide your information; this will not affect your ability to receive a verbal estimate by telephone.
Information We Collect — three categories.
We collect information in three categories: information you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you visit our website, and information collected from third parties in the course of business operations. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or financial account credentials.
2.1 — Information You Provide Directly
- Contact information — your name, property address, telephone number, and email address, collected when you request an inspection or respond to a follow-up.
- Property information — the address, approximate age, roof type, and observable condition of the property you are asking us to inspect or quote.
- Insurance claim information — if you engage us for storm restoration, your insurance carrier name, claim number, adjuster name, and the adjuster's contact details.
- Project correspondence — the contents of emails, text messages, voicemails, and inspection notes that you exchange with our staff.
- Signature and contract data — your signature on a work contract, the date of signing, and the financing or payment terms you select.
2.2 — Information Collected Automatically
- Device and browser information — IP address, browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and preferred language.
- Usage information — pages visited, time spent on each page, referring URL, exit URL, and the sequence of pages viewed.
- Approximate location — derived from IP address at the city or regional level. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Cookies and similar technologies — described in detail in Section 04.
2.3 — Information From Third Parties
- Insurance adjuster reports — when you engage us for storm restoration, we receive claim documentation from your insurance adjuster, including photographs and damage assessments.
- Property records — publicly available county property records used to verify ownership, parcel size, and prior permitting history.
- Referral information — when a past client refers you, we may receive your name and telephone number from the referring party.
How We Use Information — seven specific purposes.
We use the information described in Section 02 only for the following specific business purposes. We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for any purpose unrelated to the provision of roofing services.
- To provide the service you requested — scheduling inspections, preparing specifications, executing contracts, and performing roofing work at your property.
- To communicate about your project — sending inspection reports, contract revisions, scheduling confirmations, weather-related delays, and post-project follow-up.
- To process insurance claims — exchanging documentation with your insurance adjuster, submitting line-item scopes, and corresponding about claim status.
- To maintain warranty records — retaining the signed completion certificate, material warranties, and photographic documentation for the duration of the workmanship warranty (twenty-five years from project completion).
- To improve our website and services — analyzing aggregated, anonymized usage data to identify which pages are read, which services are most often requested, and where the website is failing to communicate clearly.
- To respond to legal obligations — complying with subpoenas, court orders, building department records requests, and tax record retention requirements.
- To send occasional project updates — no more than four emails per year, describing recently completed work in your region. You may unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the link in the footer of each message.

Information Sharing & Disclosure — who sees your data.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share personal information only with the parties listed below, and only to the extent necessary to provide the service you have engaged us to perform.
- Insurance adjusters — when you engage us for storm restoration, we share inspection photographs, scope of work, and project correspondence with the adjuster assigned to your claim. We do not share information unrelated to the specific claim.
- Material suppliers — your name, project address, and material order are shared with the supplier fulfilling your order (for example, GAF, CertainTeed, or our local slate distributor) so that the warranty can be registered in your name.
- Payment processor — Stripe processes your payment card information. We receive a confirmation of payment and the last four digits of the card used; we do not receive or store the full card number.
- Subcontractors — for specialized work (for example, scaffolding erection or crane lifting), your name, project address, and access instructions are shared with the subcontractor performing that portion of the work.
- Building departments — when a permit is required, your name, property address, and project scope are submitted to the relevant municipal building department as part of the permit application.
- Legal counsel and auditors — in the event of a contract dispute, warranty claim, or audit, we may share relevant correspondence with our legal counsel or independent auditor, subject to confidentiality agreements.
We will not share your information with any other party without your explicit written consent, except where required by law.
Data Security — how we protect what you share.
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These safeguards include:
- Encryption of all data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Encryption of all data at rest in our project management system using AES-256.
- Role-based access controls — only the lead carpenter assigned to your project and the office manager can view your full project record.
- Annual password rotation for all staff with system access.
- Mandatory two-factor authentication for all staff with access to project records.
- Quarterly internal security review by our office manager.
- Annual external security review by an independent IT consultant.
No method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is fully secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a confirmed data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in writing within thirty (30) days of confirmation, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes § 325E.61.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under sixteen, please contact us at privacy@nordhausroofing.com and we will promptly delete the information.
Third-Party Links — a note on the wider web.
Our website contains links to external websites operated by third parties — including material manufacturers (GAF, CertainTeed), the Better Business Bureau, the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, and local building departments. These linked websites have their own privacy policies, which may differ materially from ours.
We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit after leaving ours. Nordhaus is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of third-party websites, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected through third-party websites.
Changes to This Policy — when and how we update it.
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our information practices, legal obligations, or operational requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last revised" date at the top of this page.
- Material changes — any change that affects the categories of information collected, the purposes of use, or the third parties to whom information is disclosed. We will provide notice of material changes by email to clients with active projects and by posting a prominent notice on our website homepage for at least thirty (30) days before the change takes effect.

Your continued use of our website or services after the effective date of any revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
